What do we do?

We collect great quality donations of clothes, toys and equipment for babies and children and we gift these donations on to local families, dealing with really challenging circumstances.

Families can be sent our way by our network of referral partners – health visitors, children’s centres, midwives, faith organisations and other charities, or are welcome to Contact us or Pop in themselves.

We ask all families wishing to use the service to complete a Wishlist (basic information, not shared with any other agencies) and we work hard to match the right items with the right age of child or family needs.

Who is it for?

Families with under 5's or pregnant women living in Hartlepool and surrounding areas. We tend to provide support from 28 weeks pregnant, however, if you don't meet any of these criteria please do still get in touch. Sometimes we have older clothes / can provide earlier depending on circumstances. If we are able to help, we will!

What does it cost?

If you are able to make a small donation towards our running costs (primarily nappies and wipes) that’s fantastic, but no family will be turned away for being unable to donate.

How does it work?

Families complete a wishlist, which we can then use to match the items we have, against the family's need.
(This information is not shared with other organisations.)

All we need is some simple, basic information and you can tell us if you need a pram/clothes etc. Volunteers are always on hand to help, and often you can leave the same day with the items, or we'll let you know when to expect them.

Or simply come and have a natter with other local families.

When do we meet?

We hold 3 sessions a week to re-distribute, good quality used items and help others feeling the pinch of modern life.
We also provide a safe space for parents to come and meet other parents and share the trials and tribulations of parenting.

We are open Tuesdays and Thursdays 10-2 during the summer holidays. Please be patient with us as we try to operate the best we can with a reduced team during this time. Please note when you register with us you will need to provide proof of address. We do not accept applications from Middlesbrough or Stockton as they have their own baby banks within this area.

What can I do to help?

Gift aid

If you have made a monetary donation to us, and are a UK tax payer, would you consider filling in the Gift Aid form?
It means we receive an extra 25p for every £1 you donated, at no extra charge to you!

How can Hartlepool help?

Every session we give out countless packets of nappies and baby wipes, we supply clothing, shoes, toys and practical equipment such as safety gates and pushchairs, moses baskets and baby baths. We have to source these items ourselves if they are not donated. Would you consider giving the price of a coffee and buying some nappies or wipes for us?
